Frequently Asked Questions

1. What does refurbished mean?

Our refurbishment/reconditioning process involves basically three key steps:

  1. Preinspection: We identify any physical or mechanical defects of a unit and obtain replacement parts from Tektronix as required.
  2.  Lab Verification: All physical and electronic defects are repaired and all necessary parts replaced. Units also are tested using the
manufacturer’s original equipment specifications and guidelines.
  3. Quality control:

 a. Cleaning/refurbishment: Each unit is thoroughly cleaned which may include the removal of previous owner markings, sticker residue, and asset tags. External parts such as the front or rear panels, front panel knobs, or chassis and/or chassis components (such as the lift bar and feet) may be replaced if missing or damaged.

b. Accessories/Documentation: All accessories including probes, manuals, testing documentation, and calibration certifications are obtained.

c. Calibration: We use a local NIST traceable calibration company to provide the calibration and test data.
